"ACE Computer Training"
Many of us assume that we’re doing fine, when it comes to our Foundational Skills, but sometimes we develop unconscious strategies we use to avoid tasks that might be challenging or even a little scary - for example, we might avoid using computers.
But, as some of the students in this documentary have discovered, computer skills open doors to new opportunities in the work place. They have finished a course at their local TAFE, Polytechnic West in Western Australia. If you find yourself avoiding reading, writing or, like these learners, computing tasks at home or in your workplace you might find enrolling in an adult community education program the answer.
To join others experiencing the same difficulties and work together on building your skills locate a program in your local area by calling 1300 I LEARN, or visit www.adultlearnersweek.org. You can also visit your local community centre, TAFE or local library to find out which training sessions are available in your local community.
